The European Peace University (EPU) – Private Universität located in Stadtschlaining/Austria is looking for a Director of Study Program for the
MA PROGRAM PEACE AND CONFLICT STUDIES
EPU has worked in the area of Peace and Conflict Studies for the past 20 years. In spring 2010 the European University Center for Peace Studies was granted the status of a Private University named “European Peace University” by the Austrian Accreditation Council and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Research.
Job Profile:
* Teaching at the EPU.
* Academic support of current students and students writing their MA thesis.
* Collaboration in drafting curricula for Bachelor’s Programs.
* Coordination of the research- and publication activities of the EPU.
* Coordination of a European and international research network, respectively.
* Establishment and development of interuniversity cooperation.
* Continuous planning, organization and implementation of the MA curriculum.
Requirement Profile:
* Personal interest in taking part in the establishment of a new private university.
* Preparedness to accept Schlaining as the place for working and living.
* Preparedness to start working at the beginning of September 2013 at the latest.
Application Requirements:
* Proof of a doctorate in peace studies or social sciences.
* Proof of postdoctoral research or venia docendi or habilitation.
* Curriculum Vitae with a list of all publications and research projects.
* Proof of all teaching assignments at the European Peace University (EPU) – Private University or at other international universities including their didactic evaluation.
* Information on the desired field of the teaching position. This must be thematically close to the course offer of the private university.
Furthermore:
* Excellent knowledge of English.
* Ability to work in a team.
* Experience in dealing with international students.
